Very sad to see this. He was quite an entertainer in his own right, although his father's legacy overshadowed his own talent in the public eye.

I still remember a tv show he had as a summer replacement show for Dean Martin. It was a variety show an very nicely done. Late 60's early 70's as I recall. He toured on his own too - I saw him in person twice - again late 60's or early 70's.

Sad to see this earlier tonight.
Someone posted that he was one of the saddest figures who ever lived. I don't know about that but it is always hard to live up to such a great figure like his father was, especially as a musician. In later years he conducted his dad's concerts.

And of course the kidnapping in 1963 must have been very traumatic for him.

I'm not too familiar with his recordings but listened to some of his singing tonight and it was exceptional. Yesterday I signed up for Apple Music's 3 month service, which gives me virtually unlimited access to most of the music in the iTunes library for streaming. I listened to a few songs from one of Frank Sinatra Jr's most recent albums from around 2006 and enjoyed it.

His passing is one of those deaths you don't expect to hear about at his age, just like the recent death of David Bowie. The 70's is young now and so many greats are still out there going strong like Paul, Ringo, Mick, Barry, Barbra and even Buddy Guy from the Jazz and Blues world of music.

It is always sad to have a child pass before a parent does and I believe Frank's mother, Nancy is still alive. Sad to hear this.
