While Republicans are arguing that our rights, freedoms and civil liberties are being taken away, our health is at risk by all the stupidity in all of this.
I can understand the argument, but I disagree with them on this. Over the last couple of months Americans have invested a lot in this from healthcare workers to the average American hopefully doing the right thing by socially distancing.
The protesting we are seeing are putting it all at risk, setting back the cause. Gathering in crowds with no masks, to businesses opening up too soon, to people gathering at beaches and parks, putting themselves and others at risks.
With all that is happening, we may never recover from this. People are dumb and wreck less and ignoring the science.
Benefits can only last so long and the government can't continue to print money. There is no logic in reopening bowling alleys and movie theaters. Some owners won't despite being given the clearance from their states.
While not on the same page as the Lrft most of the time, the Right seems nuts saying this is just like the flu and comparing numbers. Well it's not. Too many famous musicians are dying. I pay attention to music, and those deaths I keep seeing tells me all I need to know about this. We are facing the unknown here, with too many question marks. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
People are not taking this seriously and I see it everyday from local to national. This will be the downfall because of the irresponsible. This is a fast pace world compared to the plague 100 years ago. The population is much bigger and so is the technology, but the stupidity is what will prevent any progress. So much at risk and just a few can set everything back.
I'm completely disgusted in what I'm seeing and have very little faith in this being resolved. Life as we knew it may never return to normal.
