I was listening to the news station on the radio while eating breakfast this morning when they broke in to report live regarding Merrick Garland's appointment by President Obama for Supreme Court Justice.
The president spoke beautifully about him in his introduction. Despite my opposition to the president, I feel that he does have the right to make an appointment now than for the process to be put on hold till after a new president takes office. The Republicans are wrong in their thinking to not even consider a nomination. If the person isn't agreeable, then there is a process but to be unfair and say everyone will be denied is silly and nonproductive for our nation.
The article makes a good point why now might be a better time for Garland's nomination than later for the Republican's.
I'll give this one to Obama. Rare for me to agree with him on anything these days, but in agreement with his pick.
