I rarely watch the Super Bowel, or for that matter pro football. It is a despicable organization, totally corrupted by money. When the high school football season is over I put away football for another year. I will however watch Colbert and Corden. They both are excellent and I'm sure it will be a great show.

I am seeing that Colbert's ratings are dropping - some nights even Seth Myers show beats him and Myers is on an hour later. Reasons for the drop are being listed as 1 - too few Republicans willing to watch - he pulls only 18% vs. Fallon's 33% of Republican viewers and 2 - too sophisticated, with deeper more nuanced guests and interviews. Interesting.

It is all political humor favoring the left based on the shows, hosts and networks.

Colbert's show is less than six months old and still finding an audience, but then again, as successful as Letterman was, Leno consistently beat him in the ratings as the 2 shows are still up against each other with different hosts.

The game has changed with dvr's. I wonder if the ratings are based during the time people watch during the air times or if they also measure people who watch later on their dvr's and other streaming services.

Fallon is too liberal for my tastes and too lame and corny. Colbert is indeed sophisticated and intelligent and really doesn't bother me too much.
He has done a lot of Trump bashing lately but not to be taken too seriously as these shows cater to political humor. Trump gave it back to Hillary and called her a liar. So glad to see him say that. RI much prefer Ted Cruz and I'm glad he's making gain right now. If Trump and Clinton ran against each other, I think he would destroy her.

I don't think the ratings matter much in late hnight talk shows anymore. The hosts are all friends with each other and the networks are all getting their share. As much as I like Colbert, he and the others cater mostly to the left and it is what it is. I still find his presentation entertaining and hardly watch Fallon. Recent exceptions were Bruce Springsteen and Tina Fey. I will watch any talk show if there is a guest I like, but with Colbert, I watch every episode. The only guest so far that annoyed me was Bill Mohers.

I meant Bill Maher. He came across like a jerk attacking religion. It seems like Colbert was at odds with him during the interview, unless he was just playing it up for laughs.

I agree with your previous post - I saw the Bill Maher show and I think Colbert was at odds with Maher and Maher seemed surprised. I sense he's not used to seeing resistance on the talk shows.

Still Seth Myers is far more liberal than Colbert yet he is drawing more Republican viewers than Colbert. The polling org. suggested that Republicans are not over Colberts last show where he played a parody of Bill O'Reilly and other conservative pundits. Still I like his show the most, but will switch for a guest I like. Kimmel had a great week in Brooklyn a few weeks ago - when Colbert was in reruns.

Seth Myers is likeable and has become a staple of delivering the news from his SNL days. I watched the other night when he had Tina and Amy on, along with other cast members from their new film. Unlike the Fallon Tina Fey interview, I grew bored and turned it off after the other cast members came on. It was too long and didn't hold up for me with anything significant being offered.

That's about the only Seth I've watched lately. I do like the new set changes and him going right to the news in the beginning of the program. The old set look cheesy and amateurish.

I can't relate to the other Republicans who are tuning out, as I never watched his old show even once. By the clips I've seen, Stephen seems kinder and gentler. By what I have seen from his new show, is someone completely polished in his delivery, as well as someone who has great interviewing and listening skills. A great talk show host not only has to ask the right questions, but listen and react to the guest in a one on one relationship that seems personalized making it appear as it is not being played to an audience.
